We try to provide most of the information you'll need throughout our website, but we've compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions to help expedite your search for questions.

What do we need to bring?

  • Texas Hunting License
  • Federal Migratory Stamp
  • State Duck Stamp
  • Hunter Education Card (if required, for details see the TPWD page)
  • Shotgun and Nontoxic Shells (if using 'normal' steel shot, we recommend #2 for ducks; BB's for geese)
  • Hunting Clothes (be prepared for weather from 20 to 50 degrees)
  • Rain Gear
  • Chest Waders
  • Camera

Where do we meet and how do we get there? (Directions to Coastal Wings - Bay City, TX)

From Houston: Take Hwy. 59 south to Hwy. 60 in Wharton. Follow Hwy. 60 south to Bay City. The Cattleman's Inn (were we lodge our guests and greet day hunters) is located on the left, 2 miles inside the city limits.

From Austin: Take 183 south until you get to Hwy. 71. Take Hwy. 71 east until you get to Hwy. 35. Take Hwy 35 east until you get to Hwy. 60 in Bay City. Take Hay 60 north until you get to the Cattleman's Inn, located on your right.

From San Antonio: Take I-10 east until you get to Hay 71 in Columbus. Take Hay 71 east and follow the same directions as Austin.

From Dallas: Take I-45 south to Houston. On the north side of Houston, take I-610 west until you get to Hay 59. Take Hay 59 south and follow the same directions as Houston.

How many acres do you have to hunt?

We have access to over 35,000 acres of cropland, wetlands and fields.

What type of geese and duckswill we see?
The Gulf Coast rice prairies of Texas are known for wintering the majority of all Central Flyway waterfowl including four goose species: Snows, Ross, Specklebelly and Canadas. We also offer some spectacular wingshooting for numerous species of ducks including Pintails, Widgeon, Teal, Gadwall, & Redheads.

Can I bring my own dog?
We provide retrievers for our hunts, but you are more than welcome to bring along your own dog.

Do you require a deposit?
We require a 50% deposit to secure a date.
